The bonnet and boot are fixed (no engine detail), but, it has the very cool feature of a removable roof panel over the front passenger (ejector) seat.     Fokker E.III Eindecker 105/15, mono wing fighter. Believed to be the plane flown by Vizefeldwebel Ernst Udet when he scored his first aerial victory. Udet ended the war with 62 confirmed victories, the most successful air ace to survive the Great War. The Eindecker was the first aeroplane specifically designed to hunt other aeroplanes. Able to fire its machine gun through the arc of the prop, the pilot just had to aim his plane at the target and shoot. Diecast metal model with plastic parts.     Griffon powered Spitfire XIV MV257 of Group Capt. J. E. Johnson, No 125 Wing, Denmark, June 1945. In April 1945 Johnnie Johnson was promoted to Group Captain and put in command of No 125 Wing. On May 8, 1945, shortly after Germany surrendered Johnson and No 125 Squadron moved to Copenhagen Denmark. MV257 was his post-war Spitfire and the last Spitfire to carry his initials JE-J. Johnson’s wartime record was 515 sorties, 34 aircraft destroyed, seven shared, three probables, 10 damaged and one shared, destroyed on the ground. All his “kills” were fighters. Nicknamed 'Moby Dick' because of its extreme design, size, and huge overhangs. The turbocharged 3.2-litre six cranked out 845 horses, allowing speeds of up to 227mph (366km/h).     Spitfire Mk.I “Battle of Britain” X4036/D-AZ, flown by P/O Robert Doe, No.234 Squadron, Middle Wallop, August 1940. With a max. speed of 353 mph, and armed with 8 x 0.303 inch Browning machine guns, Mk. I's bore the brunt of the Battle of Britain. On August 15 1940 Doe claimed his first victory, a Messerschmitt Bf-110. The next day he scored a Bf-109 and Dornier Do-18. August 18 he claimed one Bf-109 and damaged another. Also in August, Doe shared a Ju-88 on the 21st and destroyed a Bf-109 on the 26th. By the end of WWII Doe had scored 14 kills, 2 shared, 1 probable and 5 damaged.     Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Type 21 V-173, piloted by Saburo Sakai based at Rabaul from June to July 1942. Ordered to shoot down any Allied aircraft, military or civil, Sakai refused to shoot down a C-47 when he saw a woman and a child onboard. Sakai is credited with 64 victories.
